We'll tell you straight.
Most of these come up because Recovery+ doesn't behave like other supplements. It doesn't dissolve like them, doesn't taste like them, and isn't priced like them. Here's why.
The Formula
Why don't you use "natural flavors"?
Because it's a category, not an ingredient. Under FDA rules those two words can cover a long list of flavoring substances without naming a single one. It's legal and nearly universal — and it means the label tells you almost nothing.
We use real fruit powder and monk fruit instead. Both are named. Both are things you'd recognize.
What's actually in Recovery+?
1610mg of electrolytes (Celtic sea salt, potassium, magnesium, calcium), 600mg NAC, 250mg glutathione, 100mg CoQ10, 1000mg taurine, chelated trace minerals, vitamin C, and an absorption stack with BioPerine® and AstraGin® plus digestive enzymes.
The full supplement facts panel is on every product page. Nothing is hidden in a proprietary blend.
Why doesn't it dissolve instantly?
Fillers and flow agents are what make powder vanish on contact. Silicon dioxide, maltodextrin, and anti-caking agents exist to improve texture and mixability — not to do anything for your body.
Without them you'll need a few extra shakes. What you won't get is a scoop of additives your stomach has to process.
Why doesn't it taste like other electrolyte powders?
Because everything else is engineered to. Flavor systems and sweeteners like sucralose and stevia exist to mask what minerals actually taste like. Strip them out and you get the real thing — subtler, earthier, less like a candy drink.
We're working on improving taste honestly, over time. We won't do it by adding back what we removed.
Is there sugar or caffeine in it?
No sugar and no caffeine. Sweetness comes from monk fruit extract and real fruit powder.
Why does the powder sometimes clump?
Anti-caking agents prevent clumping. We don't use them. Real fruit powder also absorbs ambient moisture more readily than synthetic flavor systems.
Clumping is cosmetic and doesn't affect the formula. Keep the pouch sealed and stored somewhere dry, and break up any clumps before mixing.
Is this vegan and gluten-free?
Yes to both. Recovery+ is also non-GMO, glyphosate-free, and zero sugar.
Using It
How do I take it?
Mix one stick with 16–24 oz of water. Shake or stir until dissolved. More water makes the mineral taste milder if you're adjusting to it.
When should I take it?
Most people take it after training or on heavy sweat days. It also works first thing in the morning, during long efforts, or on travel days.
There's no wrong time — it's built for daily use, not just post-workout.
Can I take it every day?
Yes. It's formulated for daily use — that's the whole reason we were strict about what's in it. Something you take once is different from something you take 365 times a year.
Do I still need other supplements?
Recovery+ consolidates what most people were buying separately — electrolytes, NAC, glutathione, CoQ10, taurine, trace minerals, vitamin C, and absorption support. Bought individually at comparable quality, that's roughly $300 a month.
What else you need depends on your goals and diet. We'd rather you ask your clinician than take our word for it.
Can I take this while pregnant or nursing?
Talk to your doctor first. That goes for any supplement, and it goes double if you're pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a health condition.
Safety & Testing
What does "third-party tested" actually mean here?
An independent lab — not us — verifies that what's in the pouch matches what's on the label. Dose accuracy, purity, and contaminant screening.
Plenty of brands use the phrase. Fewer will tell you what it covers.
Where is it manufactured?
In the USA, under strict cGMP guidelines in an FDA-registered facility. The certifications on our packaging aren't decoration — they're the floor for something you put in your body daily.
Why do clinicians share Modern Fuel?
Over 740 clinicians share Modern Fuel on FrontrowMD without compensation. They aren't paid, sponsored, or given equity.
They share it for the same reason we made it: the formula is fully disclosed, the doses are meaningful, and there's nothing in it that has to be explained away.
Are there any side effects?
Most people tolerate it well. Some notice mild digestive adjustment in the first few days, which is common when introducing minerals and enzymes.
If you're on medication, managing a condition, or have questions about a specific ingredient, check with your clinician before starting.
Orders & Subscriptions
How fast will my order arrive?
Orders are processed within 48 hours, excluding weekends and holidays. After that, delivery typically takes 5–7 business days depending on your location.
You'll get a confirmation email with tracking as soon as it ships.
How much does shipping cost?
Free on U.S. orders over $55, and free on all active subscription orders. Below $55, it's a flat $4.99.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, to select countries. International shipping is calculated at checkout and paid by the customer, and any duties or taxes are due on delivery.
Customs can add time. Note that international orders aren't eligible for returns or refunds.
What if I don't like it?
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on orders placed at modern-fuel.com. It covers one product per customer, so if you're trying us for the first time, order one and see how you feel about it.
Prefer to swap flavors instead of getting your money back? We'll send a replacement free and you don't need to return the original. It's one or the other, not both.
Email support@modern-fuel.com within 30 days and we'll take care of it.
Can I return an unopened order?
Yes — unopened, unused, and undamaged product in its original packaging can be returned within 30 days. Contact support to start the return; you'll cover return shipping, and original shipping and taxes aren't refunded.
Refunds go back to the original payment method and typically clear in 5–7 business days.
My order arrived damaged.
Send your name, email, order number, and photos of the damage to support@modern-fuel.com. We'll send a replacement free of charge.
How does the subscription work?
Subscribing saves up to 25% — $39.74 instead of $52.99 — ships free, and arrives automatically so you don't run out.
Nothing is pre-set to subscribe. If you choose it, you'll see it flagged on the product page, in your cart, and at checkout. You'll also get a reminder email two days before every charge.
Can I cancel or change my subscription?
Anytime, no fees, no minimum. Use the Subscription Login link on our site, or the link in your order confirmation email.
One thing to know: if a charge goes through before you cancel, that order isn't refundable — so make changes before the reminder email lands.
Which size should I order?
30 servings works out to $1.76 per stick. 120 servings drops it to $0.92 — and clears free shipping plus every gift tier.
If you're new, start at 30 and see how you feel about the taste before committing to a larger size.
Can I cancel an order I just placed?
Email support@modern-fuel.com as fast as you can. We process orders quickly, so we can't promise we'll catch it before it ships — but we'll try.
The Brand
Why is it so hard to make supplements this way?
Real fruit powder is difficult to source in bulk and expensive when you find it. That's the easy part.
The hard part is manufacturing. Fillers and flow agents keep powder moving through machinery. Without them, product absorbs moisture, clumps, and jams equipment. Humidity, timing, packaging, and handling all have to be controlled far more tightly.
Most companies aren't unwilling to make a formula like this. They're unable to do it at scale. That's why the shelf looks the way it does.
Why does it cost more than other electrolytes?
Because it isn't an electrolyte powder. It's a recovery stack — NAC, glutathione, CoQ10, taurine, and chelated trace minerals alongside the electrolytes, in doses that do something.
Compared to a $30 tub of flavored salt, it's expensive. Compared to buying those ingredients separately, it's a fraction of the cost.
What happened to Electrolyte Refuel?
We're discontinuing the tubs. They're being replaced by Daily Hydration — a new line built to the same standard as Recovery+, in stick packs.
Where is this going?
Recovery+ is the first product, not the goal. We're building an entire line held to one standard: real fruit powder, real ingredients, no fillers, no flow agents, no silicon dioxide, nothing hiding behind a category name.
Daily Hydration and Carb Fuel are next. After that, more — until there's a full shelf of supplements you can take without wondering what else came with them.
Supplements should make you healthier. Not just taste like they might.
